I spend so much time thinking. So much time in my own head. The rest of the time I seem to spend learning. It makes me sure of a few things:
1. Something in here must be interesting to someone. Or someone must have some of the same interests. Sometimes I feel quite alone, but that must be illusion. There are too many people with too many thoughts for my loneliness to be truth.
2. Getting others involved would probably make this way more fun and productive. I find my thoughts interesting enough to spend all my time immersed in them, but I’d like to hear other peoples as well.
3. Collaboration of critical thought on most any topic seems too often to find itself behind some pay wall or gate-keepy organization. When I take an interest in something and try to learn all I can about the topic my best choice seems too often to be an individual’s book or blog. That’s great! Make no mistake. But where is the discourse?
4. There is a great deal we as a species don’t know about this world, this universe. We have more questions than answers and are mostly overestimating how much of anything we truly understand. The more I read the less I know, and I do like to know how things work.
I as an individual, and by extension likely others, would probably bring interesting thoughts to fruitful ends more quickly and more often if those thoughts were transformed effectively to conversation. In a haystack of thoughts and questions I might stand a better chance of finding a needle with a bit of help.
So here I am, trying to make what I didn’t satisfactorily find. I hope this blog serves as a place not only where I can offload some thoughts, but maybe eventually to find like-minded individuals. If you happen to stumble onto this site and want to add your own thoughts please contact me.
And finally, welcome to The Haystack. Let’s find a needle together.
